Any artist, who is constantly evolving and reaching will tell you how the process of creating a piece of work can push one to the limits of patience and panic, but then, isn’t that the point? When we are uncomfortable and problem solve our way out, then that is when we become artists worth our salt. Hitting those lows and working through to the other side is really what hones and shapes us as skilful creators.
So when we get comfortable with being uncomfortable we can put aside our emotional judgment, we keep going and remember how we felt when we started the piece, the spark that lights us up, and then go through the process. When it fails we can take the experience and remake it, when it succeeds we stand in front of it and a feeling of satisfaction and pride comes over me, similar to having completed a marathon, except there is no end to the journey. We just keep going and always aiming to learn and be better.
Meanwhile the piece goes into the world and will open its door to its new companions… who will love it and make a relationship with it. Living in the homes or workplaces and allowing those around it, to see deeper into the art piece, to reflect their own life over the years.
